MORE than 100 volunteers turned out in force to help clean up Tidworth, and the results were nothing short of remarkable.
Residents of all ages joined the town’s first litter pick of the year as part of the Great British Spring Clean, with families, friends and “lots of little helpers” rolling up their sleeves to make a difference.

Organisers say they were “blown away” by the turnout, with so many people taking part that they actually ran out of equipment – a problem they were more than happy to have.
By the end of the day, volunteers had collected an impressive 85 bags of rubbish from around the community, transforming streets and green spaces.

To top it all off, everyone who took part was treated to a free ice cream, thanks to H’s Ices, in a gesture that organisers said perfectly captured the spirit of the day.

Support also came from idverde UK, working in partnership with Wiltshire Council’s Our Wiltshire initiative, who supplied bags and helped collect the waste, as well as previously donating equipment.
The event has been hailed as a shining example of community pride, with residents coming together in huge numbers to care for the place they live.
With such a strong start to the year, organisers are hopeful the momentum will continue, proving that when a community pulls together, it can achieve something special.
