JULIA’S House is encouraging people to leave a gift in their will to enable the charity to help create precious memories for families whose time together is short.
October marks free Will month where people can write or update a simple will for free.
Many choose to provide a gift to charities in their Will.
Gifts help charities such as Julia’s House to support families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
This includes the family of eight-year-old Ziggy, who describe him as a whirlwind of giggles.
Ziggy has an ultra-rare genetic condition called infantile hyperoxaluria type 1.
Less than 20 years ago, Ziggy’s condition would not have been treatable but medical advances have given him a chance at childhood.
“The nurses at Julia’s House understand what we’re going through,” said Ziggy’s mum Jackie.
“They give me that little bit of strength to keep going. To be honest, I don’t know where we’d be without them.”
Anyone who could help the charity to be there for children like Ziggy is encouraged to leave a gift in their Will to Julia’s House.
