Man charged after Poppy Appeal tin stolen

A 31-YEAR-old man from Southampton has been charged by police after a Poppy Appeal collection tin that had £200 inside was stolen in Ringwood.

Sean Johnathon Cooper, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with theft and non-dwelling burglary with intent to steal.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Police said: “The charges follow the theft of a collection tin from Greyfriars Community Centre, Christchurch Road, Ringwood on November 2 and a burglary at a business premises on Meeting House Lane, Ringwood on Monday (November 10).”

Cooper is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (November 12).
