THE AMBULANE service is advising motorists not to cross fords after a vehicle became stranded at Fordingbridge.
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, assisted by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, was called to Godshill where a car had become stuck attempting to cross a ford.

A spokesman said: “Fords that are usually passable are going to be much higher and if a road or ford looks flooded, please don’t try and drive through it.
“Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of our fire and rescue service colleagues and initially passersby, the three occupants of the vehicle were able to be rescued unscathed.”
