Shoppers donate Christmas gifts to ill and bereaved

SALISBURY Hospice Charity was over the moon to receive much-needed Christmas gifts from one of the city’s high street fashion retailers.

Primark and its generous customers have this week handed over bulging shopping bags full of donations including cosy bed socks, hats, scarves, slippers, pyjamas and thoughtful gifts.

The presents will be shared with people staying in Salisbury Hospice’s ten-bed specialist inpatient unit and across the community.

A spokesman said: “Our team have been busy little elves, carefully sorting through the items received to ensure our patients and those who are bereaved, receive a little something, spreading the festive cheer far and wide.

“Some gifts were even passed on the very same day they arrived out in the community. Thank you for helping to fill our hospice with community spirit and Christmas magic.”
