THE county is bracing for more icy conditions with below-freezing temperatures expected to continue until at least Wednesday.
According to the Met Office, in Salisbury overnight lows will hit -2°C tonight, drop further to -4°C tomorrow (Saturday) and remain cold at around -3°C on Sunday.
In response to the persistent frost and ice, Wiltshire Council has deployed gritters across the county to help keep roads safe.
Drivers are being urged to take extra care particularly on minor roads that may not be salted, and to adjust their speed and driving to match the icy conditions.
Residents are also reminded to watch for black ice, keep a safe distance from other vehicles and allow extra time for journeys.
Anyone heading out on foot or on a bicycle should take extra care and be aware of slips and trips in the icy conditions.
Wiltshire Council thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during these cold conditions and says that teams will continue to monitor the weather and treat roads as needed.
