VISITORS and residents in Salisbury are being advised of a planned emergency services drill taking place at the cathedral today.
The training exercise involves using specialist rope rescue teams from Westlea and Poole, alongside firefighters and the aerial ladder platform from Salisbury Fire Station, between 10am and 2pm.
The training is vital to ensure firefighters remain fully prepared to respond safely and effectively to real-life incidents, particularly within complex and historic buildings such as Salisbury Cathedral.
A spokesman for Salisbury Fire Station said: “We would like to reassure the public that this is a planned training exercise only and there is no cause for concern.”
