Care home Bereavement Café will support whole community

A CARE home in Salisbury has launched a new monthly Bereavement Café to offer support and companionship to people who have lost a loved one.

Milford House Care Home in Milford Mill Road has teamed up with Sarum Health Group to run the free sessions, which will take place on the last Thursday of every month.

The Bereavement Café will be held from 2pm to 4pm and is open to anyone in the community who has experienced loss.

The sessions are designed to provide a welcoming, informal space where people can meet others, find support or simply spend time together.

Senior general manager Sarah Hayman said the café aims to remove pressure and create a calm, supportive environment.

She said: “We are only too happy to give members of our local community the opportunity to come together in a safe, relaxed and comfortable setting. There is no pressure on anyone to talk, it’s an opportunity for connection, support or just share memories if they wish.

“We hope the café will benefit those who have experienced loss as well as those who are supporting someone through loss. There will be complimentary, tea, coffee as well as homemade cake.”

The Bereavement Café is free to attend and no booking is required.

The Salisbury home provides nursing care, residential care and respite care.
