Salisbury U14s snatch dramatic last-minute cup win

SALISBURY U14s pulled off a dramatic comeback to lift the Dorset & Wilts Cup on Sunday, beating Oakamedians U14s 28-22 at Sherborne RFUC.

The match started in Oakamedians’ favour, with the visitors taking a seven-point lead by half-time.

But the young Whites refused to give up.

They seized control with three quick tries and successful conversions, closing the gap to just a single point.

The tension peaked in the final minute, when Salisbury stormed over the try line and slotted a conversion straight between the posts, securing a remarkable 28-22 victory just as the referee blew the whistle.

The win delighted proud parents, trainers and supporters, who watched an inspired display of skill, teamwork and determination.

Deputy president of the Dorset and Wilts RFU, Nigel Matt Ravers, presented the cup and medals at the end of an electrifying contest, congratulating the young players on their incredible performance.

It was a memorable day for Salisbury rugby, showcasing the talent and spirit of the region’s next generation.
