Fears raised after boy approached in city

POLICE have stepped up patrols in Salisbury after reports that two men approached a boy while possibly carrying a bladed article.

The incident is said to have happened in the St Mark’s area at around 6pm on Friday (March 27), prompting concern from residents.

Readers also contacted the Gazette saying they had seen men with “kives” in the area.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said officers were called to the area and carried out patrols, as well as making enquiries with nearby residents.

Police said they are aware of the reports and are continuing to investigate.
