FAMILIES in Salisbury are being offered free, face-to-face support as specialist dementia clinics return to the county.

Run by Dementia UK in partnership with Nationwide Building Society, the clinics will be held in branches across Wiltshire, including Salisbury, over the coming weeks.

The sessions will be led by Admiral Nurses – specialists in dementia care – offering tailored advice in a private and supportive setting.

They are open to anyone affected by dementia, from those worried about early symptoms to families navigating a diagnosis.

Ahead of the clinics, Dementia UK has shared advice for carers, highlighting the importance of looking after their own wellbeing while supporting others.

Tips include reaching out to family and friends for help, exploring available support services, and making time for personal health and interests.

Carers are also encouraged to maintain meaningful connections with loved ones and speak to employers about flexible working where needed.

Nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia, with many more taking on caring responsibilities, often with little support.

The Salisbury clinics will take place at Nationwide on Old George Mall from May 5 to 7, with appointments available to book online.
