DRIVERS are being reminded of temporary access changes in Salisbury city centre today as work takes place in Cathedral Close.
Vehicle access via the High Street gate will be closed until 5pm, to allow scaffolding to be safely removed from nearby buildings.
During this time, all vehicles will need to enter Cathedral Close via St Ann’s Gate on Exeter Street.
Motorists approaching from Crane Bridge Road and New Street are advised to follow the one-way diversion route around the Mercure White Hart Hotel.
However, access may be restricted for larger vehicles due to the height limitation at St Ann’s Gate.
All vehicles leaving the Close today will be directed out through Harnham Gate onto De Vaux Place.
Pedestrians and cyclists will not be affected by the changes and can continue to use the High Street gate as normal.
The temporary measures are in place to ensure public safety while the scaffolding removal is carried out, and normal access arrangements are expected to resume after 5pm.
