THE company behind the ambitious restoration of Salisbury’s historic Cathedral Hotel is set to showcase its plans at one of the New Forest’s biggest business events.
Fordingbridge-based Larasian will be exhibiting at the New Forest Business Show on June 18, using the event to introduce its growing portfolio of businesses, and give an update on the long-awaited transformation of the Grade II-listed Cathedral Hotel in Salisbury.
The privately owned company owns several well-known brands including Select Country Inns, New Forest Holidays and The Regal Cinema.
But one of its most eye-catching projects is now taking shape in Salisbury city centre.
Larasian recently secured approval to move into the construction phase of the Cathedral Hotel restoration after meeting all pre-commencement planning conditions.
The historic Milford Street building is being turned into a five-star boutique hotel featuring 13 luxury suites, an outdoor restaurant and a rooftop Spitfire Bar, complete with panoramic views across Salisbury.
The development is expected to create 28 jobs and open in 2027.
Barry Robbins, chief executive of Larasian, said: “The New Forest Business Show is a brilliant opportunity for us to meet like-minded businesses and share what we’re working on.
“Many people in the area may know one or two of our brands, but we’re excited to introduce the full picture – who we are, what we do and where we’re headed. The Cathedral Hotel is a project we’re enormously proud of and we’re looking forward to talking about it with people who share our passion for the region.”
The New Forest Business Show, organised by the New Forest Business Partnership, takes place at the New Forest Showground near Brockenhurst and brings together businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations from across the region.
