Police treating Laverstock barn fire as suspicious after Land Rover destroyed

POLICE are investigating a barn fire in Laverstock as a suspected case of arson after a Land Rover, farming equipment and part of an agricultural building were destroyed.

Emergency services were called to the property at around 2.40am on Friday, June 13, after a fire broke out inside a barn.

Fire crews from Salisbury and Wilton attended the incident and found a Land Rover Defender well alight, with flames spreading through the structure.

Firefighters worked through the early hours to bring the blaze under control and prevent further damage.

No injuries were reported.

Wiltshire Police have now confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating following a fire at a property in Laverstock in which a Land Rover and farming equipment was destroyed and large areas of a barn were damaged.

“The fire took place at around 2.40am on Friday, June 13th.”

The blaze caused significant damage to the vehicle and agricultural equipment, while large sections of the barn were also affected.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area before the fire started.

Officers are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area during the early hours of June 13 or who may have captured relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage.
