Care home gives PEDALL riders a boost on 100-mile fundraiser

A TEAM of PEDALL volunteers taking on a gruelling 100-mile cycling challenge through the New Forest were given a warm welcome at Cedars Care Home in Landford.

The all-female group stopped off at the home for refreshments and a well-earned break as part of PEDALL’s Pass the PEDALL campaign, which aims to clock up 10,000km and raise £10,000 for inclusive cycling by September.

The cyclists set off from Burley Yard and travelled through woodland tracks, towns and open forest, visiting user groups and suppliers along the way.

Cedars has a close link with PEDALL, which has previously provided adapted cycle trips for residents.

General manager Anish Abraham said: *“PEDALL have visited our home on many occasions and provided cycle trips for our residents in specially adapted cycles which has been very beneficial and raised everyone’s spirits.

“We were very pleased to be able to offer a well-earned break and refreshments for the team of volunteer cyclists to enable their valuable work to continue.”
