TWO fires broke out in Dorset on Tuesday (July 7) as the region experiences yet another heatwave.
A garden fire in Ferndown was brought swiftly under control this afternoon after spreading to a neighbouring property.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to reports of the blaze affecting two properties in Hardy Close, West Moors at noon.
Two crews, from Redhill Park and Poole, initially attended, finding on arrival that the fire had spread to a conservatory and nearby fence.

One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet, extinguishing the fire by 12.37pm.
Earlier in the day, a fire broke out in the open in Woodcutts Common, on the B3081 in Verwood.
The fire service was called at 11.41am, with five appliances from Shaftesbury, Cranborne, Wilton, Blandford and Verwood attending.
The blaze, involving cut straw and two bales in a field, was extinguished using two hose reel jets and a water carrier.
The incidents occurred as another hot spell sweeps the region. Temperatures in parts of Dorset reached 28C today with more hot weather on the way, as the Met Office predicts highs of 31C by the end of the week.
