PART of the A303 has been closed following a road traffic collision, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
The closure is in place near the Cholderton exit while emergency services deal with the incident.
Amesbury Police say a fuel spillage at the scene will need to be made safe before the road can reopen.
Recovery of the vehicles involved is also required.
Drivers travelling through the area are being advised to plan ahead and find alternative routes while the incident is dealt with.
It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the collision or whether anyone has been injured.

Why have Highways stopped traffic joining A303 and started to move the queued traffic off…..this is not an unusual occurrence and they should be well drilled in how to mimimise the impact
We tried to get past solstice park about 10 ish but traffic was at a standstill then we turned off and got back on further up hope every one is OK
