THE A338 near Winterbourne Gunner, north of Salisbury, is expected to remain closed for some time following a road traffic collision this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene near the Portway, with police and fire crews urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Wiltshire Police said road closures are currently in place on the A338 following the collision, which happened near Winterbourne Gunner.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays while emergency services deal with the incident.

A spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance.

“Drivers should seek alternate routes and expect delays in the area.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also warned the road is likely to remain shut for some time.
