Amesbury Carnival set to be the biggest yet

Thousands of people are expected throughout the day to attend the Amesbury Super Fete, sponsored by Home Bargains, on Sunday, August 27. This year’s event is set to be the biggest yet.

Visitors can enjoy watching a parachute jump into the arena by the Red Devils. There will also be a festival-style stage, with live music throughout the day from names like Break Cover, Take Two and Deploy DJs – as well as a full-sized fun fair from Stokes Funfair.

In the main arena, and new for this year, there will be a host of displays, including a bike stunt show from the Savage Skills stunt display team.

Making a welcome return will be the Food & Drink village and Market & Craft areas, with dozens of traders expected, selling handmade items, arts and crafts, toys, gifts and more. Super Fete staples such as the Dog Show, Family Run Races and Bumper Car Boot Sale will also return.

There will be plenty for younger visitors to enjoy with attractions such as rides and a climbing wall, as well as plenty of free attractions and activities such as a visit from some camels, static displays including blue light services and the military, a giant sand pit, disc golf and a ‘have a go’ circus.

Organised by volunteers from Amesbury Carnival Committee and The Stonehenge Chamber, the free event is now in its third year. The event will be open from 12-8pm at a new location: QinetiQ Sports Complex, Stockport Rd, Amesbury (SP40AJ).

Onsite disabled parking is available and other parking available outside the main gates. More information and online stall/pitch booking can be found via the website; https://amesburycarnival.org.
