Arrest after man suffers ‘life-threatening injuries’ after being stabbed in Salisbury

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left the victim with ‘life-threatening injuries’ in Salisbury.

An emergency crime scene was set up in Gainsborough Close at around 11.55am this morning (August 22) after a man in his 20s was stabbed.

Wiltshire Police has since confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the incident and said they ‘do not believe there to be any wider risk to the public’.

Earlier today, Superintendent Liz Coles said police patrols would be increased in the area in a bid to reassure residents as the victim received treatment at the scene.

“A scene has been set up in the close and the surrounding area while we investigate the circumstances,” she added.

“Residents are likely to see an increased policing presence in the area. We will issue an update when appropriate.”

She urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any dash cam footage from the location, to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number 115 of August 22.
