AN AWARD-WINNING children’s author who grew up in Salisbury will return to the city this month for a free event including quizzes and a world record attempt.
Jenny Pearson, whose books have been shortlisted for the Costa Children’s Book Award and Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, will visit Salisbury Library on Saturday, June 6 at 2.30pm for an event aimed at children aged five to 11.
The former teacher, now an acclaimed children’s author, won the Lollies Laugh Out Loud Book Awards and is known for her funny, heartwarming adventures.
Young readers can expect a lively afternoon featuring a ‘Super Miraculous Quiz’, storytelling inspiration and a chance to discover where Jenny gets her ideas from.
There will also be some unusual surprises, including “the best dog in the world” – according to Jenny – and a sock-based world record attempt.
Organisers said the session is designed to inspire children to create stories of their own while enjoying plenty of laughs along the way.
Booking is recommended as places are expected to fill quickly.
Tickets are available on 01722 345145 or online via the library events page
