MORE than 1,000 people have signed up for this year’s Walk for Wards and organisers are hoping even more will lace up their walking boots to support Salisbury District Hospital.
The much-loved Stars Appeal fundraising event takes place on Sunday, July 5, offering walkers the chance to take on 3k, 5k, 10k or the more challenging 15k route through the stunning Wilton House grounds and surrounding countryside.
Participants can walk in honour of a hospital ward or department that cared for them or a loved one, or in memory of someone special.
Entry to the sponsored walk is free and everyone taking part will receive lunch after crossing the finish line.

Walkers are also invited to stay and enjoy the beautiful Wilton House grounds once the event is over.
Consultant haematologist and Stars Appeal ambassador Dr Tracey Parker said: “We are delighted that over 1,000 people have already signed up to take part in Walk for Wards this July.
“It’s fantastic to see such wonderful support from the local community for Salisbury Hospital. We would love even more people to get involved and help us reach our 2,000 walker target.
“It is a great event for all ages, and every step taken helps us to raise as much as possible to enhance care for our patients and their families.”
Money raised will support projects across Salisbury District Hospital, including state-of-the-art equipment, building improvements, hospital Wi-Fi and support services for cancer patients.
Walk for Wards is held by kind permission of Lord and Lady Pembroke and is sponsored by Salisbury Reds, with support from Wilton and Salisbury Rotary Clubs.
