A BUSY Wiltshire route will be closed during work to rebuild the road.
The A3094 Netherhampton Road, at Quidhampton, will be closed to all traffic from Monday (February 12) to Friday (February 16) as Wiltshire Council works to reconstruct the road.
The road will be rebuilt and repaired, with depressions being dug out to improve the surface and prevent further damage.
While the road is closed, the council will also carry out other minor repairs, such as hedge clearing and gully cleaning.
Cllr Caroline Thomas, cabinet member for transport, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works at Quidhampton, but this is an essential project to rebuild the road and improve it for years to come.
“We are carrying out this work during half-term to try to minimise disruption as much as possible, but there may be some delays and diversions will be in place throughout the week.
“We have committed in our Business Plan to having well-connected communities, and to help with this we are investing a further £10m over the next two years into maintaining and resurfacing the county’s roads.
“To make the most of the road closure and minimise disruption in the future, we are also using this closure to carry out additional maintenance along the road. These key improvements are essential to maintaining our road network and improving people’s journeys.”
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses but people are warned to expect delays.
