CARE home residents have been making the most of the warm weather by enjoying the sun in their spacious gardens.
Big parasols have been put up above the outdoor sitting areas at Wilton Place Care Home on Buckeridge Road for those who enjoy a spot of shade while relaxing outdoors, sun hats and sun cream have definitely been needed over the past couple of weeks.
The hospitality team has been preparing jugs of cool infused water and lemonade.
The warm weather has brought with it memories of summers gone by, leading residents to reminisce over their favourite summer holidays.
One resident, Jane, said: “I love the warmer weather; it has been wonderful being able to spend a little more time outside on my sun lounger. I like sitting in my private garden area and looking at all the beautiful flowers.”
Deputy manager Emma Cole said, “It’s important our residents spend time outdoors, especially while we have this wonderful weather, but it is also imperative that our residents, staff and visitors stay cool, comfortable and well hydrated; hot and cold refreshments are always available in our bistro.”
