A 10-YEAR-OLD child was stopped by police while riding an e-scooter on a 50mph road near Shrewton.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit intervened at around 2pm on April 9 after spotting the child travelling along the busy stretch of road.
The e-scooter was seized, and the child was taken home where officers spoke with their parents.
Police have now issued a warning to families, highlighting the dangers of children using e-scooters illegally in public places.
In a statement, Amesbury Police said: “Simple incidents like this can end with tragic consequences and are preventable.
“We would like to give a friendly reminder to make sure you know where your children are going and what they are doing, and that the use of e-scooters on roads or public places is illegal.”
Officers say the incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks involved, particularly on high-speed roads, and are urging parents to be aware of how and where e-scooters are being used.
