Death of man in village near Salisbury in January ‘not suspicious’, say police

THE death of a man in Coombe Bissett is no longer being treated as suspicious, say police.

Wiltshire Police officers were sent to a property in Thorne Close at around 3pm on January 4 following reports a man in his 50s had been found with serious injuries.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man died at the scene,” a spokesperson said.

“A post mortem and further tests have now taken place and his death is being treated as non-suspicious.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.”

A woman in her 40s, who was arrested at the time on suspicion of murder and released on bail, has been released with no further action.

“Concerning the cause of death, this is not for us to say and will be a decision made by the coroner at the inquest,” the police spokesperson added.
