E-bike to be destroyed by police in Amesbury

AN E-BIKE is set to be destroyed after it was spotted being ridden on a footway in Amesbury.

On September 23, police officers on patrol in the town spotted an electric bike being ridden on the path and in Boscombe Road, Wiltshire Police said.

“This was stopped and found to be non-road legal in several areas,” a spokesperson went on.

“The e-bike was seized at the roadside and will now be destroyed, with the rider passed words of advice.”

They said any offences committed on an e-bike “will be investigated in the same way it would be if you were riding a motorcycle or driving a car”.
