Spire church strengthens local outreach in difficult times

9th May at 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Salisbury United Reformed Church (SURC) can be spotted easily in Fisherton Street as it has the second tallest spire in Salisbury! SURC reaches out to the local community through it’s coffee shop on Tuesdays and Saturdays (10am-12.30). It’s Spire Coffee Shop serves delicious homemade cakes and savoury snacks, to accompany your coffee or tea, all at very reasonable prices to suit squeezed family budgets and is a pleasant space for meeting friends and family. SURC also has a very popular second -hand book stall, usually on the first Saturday morning of each month, whilst the coffee shop is open.

SURC also offers a lunch club for single pensioners at 12.30 on the first three Wednesdays of the month where a nutritious 2-course meal is served, for £5 per person. SURC has joined Salisbury City Council’s Warm Space campaign and so the premises are open at these times during the winter months, as well as on Sunday mornings at 10.30am, for anyone who needs to find a warm space. In addition, the church hall and meeting rooms are available for private hire for conferences, smaller meetings, receptions and parties, supported by a well-equipped kitchen. The church itself is equipped with a grand piano and organ and has excellent acoustics for concerts and other musical events; it also has a first class audio- visual system to support services and conferences.
