Four arrested at Ludgershall car washes on suspicion of working illegally

FOUR men were arrested yesterday (March 19) on suspicion of having no right to work in the UK.

Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team worked with Immigration Enforcement and specialist officers as they visited three car washes in the town following concerns from residents and recent information on the properties and individuals involved.

The force says any welfare concerns were raised with the appropriate agencies.

A spokesperson said: “Four men were arrested in Ludgershall yesterday, on suspicion of having no right to work in the UK, as part of a joint operation involving Amesbury Neighbourhood Team, Immigration Enforcement and specialist officers.

“Three car washes were visited in the operation, which was supported by health and safety and environment officers and a housing conditions officer in response to concerns from local residents and recent information on the properties and individuals involved.

“Any welfare concerns were raised with the appropriate agencies and safeguarding put in place.”
