COMMUNITY groups in Salisbury are being offered the chance to secure funding for projects aimed at bringing neighbours together and improving where they live.
The SNG Community Foundation has launched its new Community in Action Fund, offering grants of up to £1,000 to support volunteer-led activities taking place this summer.
Linked to the national Big Help Out campaign, the scheme aims to encourage practical projects that boost community spirit, strengthen connections and inspire residents to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
Organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding for projects that make a visible difference. Ideas could include community clean-ups, litter picks, planting schemes, DIY improvement projects and activities for young people.
The fund is open to a range of not-for-profit groups operating in Salisbury, with grants ranging from £300 to £1,000 to help cover costs such as equipment, materials and delivery expenses.
Projects must take place in SNG communities and benefit both SNG customers and the wider public.
SNG community investment and partnerships manager Marta Rios said the initiative was about supporting people already making a difference while encouraging more residents to get involved.
“We know that the best ideas for strengthening communities come from residents themselves,” she said. “By supporting volunteer-led projects, we’re helping to build stronger, more connected communities.”
Applications are open until June 22 and must be submitted through the ActionFunder platform, https://app.actionfunder.org/fund/977
