RESIDENTS at a Wilton care home had a fun-filled, busy afternoon with their regular visit from primary school pupils.
Year 2 pupils at Wilton and Barford School came to Wilton Place care home, on Buckeridge Road in Wilton, where they had a fun-filled, busy afternoon, the care home said.
The care home activities coordinator, Fiona Long, organised a variety of engaging activities, including VE Day colouring, outdoor jumbo Jenga and a range of fun ball games.
“The residents, children and staff had a spectacular afternoon spending quality time together,” a care home spokesperson said.
“The residents enjoyed talking about a range of subjects with the children, especially sharing memories of VE Day.
“The sun was beaming throughout the afternoon, so hot and cold refreshments were available for all to savour in the bistro area.
“The home’s catering team provided a delicious home-made Victoria sponge cake which went down a treat!”
Joyce, a resident at Wilton Place Care home said: “Children always bring so much energy and joy; they can always make me smile and it reminds me of when my own children were younger.”
General manager Antoinette Roberts said: “It’s been a great afternoon with lots of excitement and smiling faces, and we love to have children come and visit us.”
