20 YEAR old Welsh defender, Harrison Bright, has joined Salisbury FC from Newport County.

He’s signed for The Whites for their first season in the Vanarama National League South, and Assistant Manager Callum Hart said he is delighted about the signing.

“We’re delighted to welcome Harrison to Salisbury. He’s an energetic full-back with the ability to beat his opponent, so I’m sure he will excite our fans,” he said.

“Harrison made double figures in appearances in the football league last season, which is a great achievement for someone so young.

“I’m also delighted that we have signed a fellow Welshman, so I’m sure you will all welcome Harrison and his family to Salisbury.”

Bright spent his career at Newport County in the Football League, including loan spells at Welsh Premier teams Pontypridd Town and Barry Town.

He made his senior debut for Newport on October 6 2020 in the EFL Trophy against Norwich City Under 21’s as a second-half sub.

In May 2022, he signed his first professional contract with Newport County, spending the second half of that season with Pontypridd.

As he continued to develop, he started last season at Barry Town on loan before being recalled to the Newport squad in January.

Towards the end of last season, Harrison made ten appearances for Newport County in League Two and played at Under 18 level for Wales.
