RESIDENTS from Wilton Place Care Home enjoyed a sunny afternoon out this week as they visited shops and businesses in the town.
The group travelled by minibus to Wilton Shopping Village, formerly known as The Guild, where they spent time browsing a range of independent stores and meeting business owners.

They explored shops including Village Wholefoods, Pip and Pod and The Cacao Grove before stopping for ice creams beside the tulips in the sunshine.
The outing also included a visit to the gallery where residents admired artwork and crafts created by local artists.

Tasty treats on offer!
Pam, one of the residents who joined the trip, said: “I have had a lovely time and it has been nice talking to the local business owners, we even met a beautiful Labrador that lives at Pip and Pod.”
Staff at the care home said trips like these are an important part of helping residents stay active and connected with the community.

Antoinette, manager at Wilton Place Care Home, said: “Our residents love going out on trips with the Activities Team and it is a great way for us to support local businesses.
“We promote independence here at Wilton Place and shopping is a great way to do this.”
