POLICE are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage after an attempted theft at Durrington Recreation Ground in the early hours of Monday morning.

Officers were called at around 12.30am on June 23 following reports of a theft in progress at the site.

After attending the scene and carrying out an area search, police located a 30-year-old man on Avondown Road and arrested him in connection with the incident.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Wiltshire Police are now urging anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, or who may have relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with footage from the south side of the recreation ground.
