A 33-YEAR-old man has been charged after a person was hit by a car in Salisbury in what police described as a targeted incident.
Wiltshire Police said a man in his 40s suffered serious leg injuries after he was hit by a Ford Fiesta on the pavement in Pinewood Close at around 5.45pm on Saturday (May 10).
They say the Fiesta, which was being driven in a “dangerous and reckless manner” prior to the incident, then left the scene.
Ashley Sherred of Southampton Road, Salisbury, has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today (May 12).
DS Matthew Goldring of South CID said: “This was a targeted incident in broad daylight in which a pedestrian has suffered serious injuries. He remains in hospital for treatment.”
