Man due in court charged with firearms and drug offences

A MAN is due to appear in court today after being charged with possession of an imitation firearm and drugs offences.

James Willett, of Southampton Road, Whaddon, has been charged after an incident at the Lode Hill Caravan Site near Salisbury on April 21.

The 18-year-old faces charges of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of a class B drug.

Detective Inspector Matt Smith, of Wiltshire Police, said: “People may have been aware of police activity in the area of Lode Hill yesterday when the arrest was made.

“I want to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident.”
