A MAN was taken to hospital following a late-night attack by a masked man on a bike in Salisbury.
The victim was at the junction of New Canal and Milford Street at 2.30am when they were assaulted with an object – believed to be a screwdriver.
The attack resulted in the victim sustaining facial injuries, including a puncture wound just below his eye, which required hospital treatment.
“The suspect, described as a man wearing black with a face covering, is believed to have ridden away on a push bike,” a Salisbury Police spokesperson said.
“He is thought to have been cycling around the city centre for some time before the incident.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries including house to house and CCTV, and people are likely to see an increased police presence.”
