Men Matters: Salisbury event puts men’s health, wellbeing and happiness centre stage

A FREE event focussing on men’s “health, wellbeing and happiness” is taking place in Salisbury next month.

Showcasing the activities, clubs, sports, social and wellbeing opportunities available to men across the city, friends and partners are also welcome to attend the informal symposium.

Returning to Salisbury City Hall, it brings together organisations, groups and activities that can help men of all ages live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.

Belinda Chandler, Project Manager for Safer and Supportive Salisbury said: “Men’s wellbeing is about much more than simply dealing with problems when they arise. It’s about having good relationships, staying active, feeling connected, having things to look forward to and knowing where to turn when life gets difficult.

“Over 200 men attended last year and benefitted from the event, and many said they wanted it to take place again – so that’s why we are back.”

Men Matters to showcase opportunities and support

Hosted by Safer and Supportive Salisbury and funded by the Salisbury Area Board, the event has been arranged to support men in dealing with life’s worries and help them tackle the things that may be getting them down.

However, it is also about opening up opportunities to make life more fulfilling and enjoyable.

Organisers are keen to express that attending doesn’t mean something is wrong, it’s simply a place to see what else is out there with no-pressure or commitment.

Belinda added: “Men Matters brings together a wide range of opportunities and support in one place.

“Whether you want to make a change, try something new or simply see what’s available, we’d encourage men of all ages to come along.

“And for men who would prefer to read the information in their own time there is also a directory of clubs, groups and services that can be picked up on the day and taken home.”

Men Matters 2026 takes place at Salisbury City Hall on Saturday, October 10, from 10am until midday. Entry is free.
