New food festival heading to Salisbury over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend

A TASTY new food event is coming to Salisbury over the Easter weekend.

The free-to-enter FESTival family event is set to run in Guildhall Square from April 18 to 21.

Organised by Zoom Events and supported by Salisbury City Council, organisers said Salisbury FEASTival will feature an eclectic mix of world street foods, handmade groceries and craft stalls with bar and live music in a festival atmosphere.

“The street food court will offer alfresco dining with stalls preparing dishes such as pork or chicken souvlaki, burritos, wraps and traditional Thai, Chinese, Sri Lankan and Italian hot foods,” a spokesperson said.

“Meanwhile, The Famous Last Stand bar will be serving alcoholic beverages and soft drinks while visitors relax and soak up the atmosphere.”

A small stage will feature live music throughout the weekend, while there will be an Easter egg hunt for children around the event from noon to 1pm and 3pm to 4pm on Easter Sunday.

“Stalls with handmade groceries, arts, crafts and accessories will accompany the food-focused fun providing plenty of intriguing items to browse,” the spokesperson went on.

“With so many tasty treats, live entertainment and gift ideas to choose from there really is something for everyone to enjoy at the FEASTival as part of a trip to the centre of Salisbury this Easter.”

Salisbury FEASTival will be open on Friday, April 18, from noon to 6pm, on April 19 from 9am to 6pm, on April 20 from 10am to 6pm and from 10am to 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
