Olivia Colman and Rory Bremne rally support for Stars Appeal’s Walk for Wards

OSCAR-winning actress Olivia Colman is helping to spread the word about the Stars Appeal’s upcoming Walk for Wards.

The actress, of The Crown, Peep Show and The Favourite fame, who is a patron of the charity, is calling for more people to sign up for the 20th annual Walk for Wards to help raise vital funds for Salisbury Hospital’s charity.

She is joined by fellow patron, the impressionist and comedian Rory Bremne in the rallying call.

This year’s Walk for Wards takes place on Sunday, July 6 at Wilton House.

A 3k, 5k or the new 15k route is available for participants to walk as a way to say thank you to a ward or department at Salisbury Hospital that is special to them.

The sponsored walk is free to enter – and lunch is provided.

Everyone is welcome to stay and enjoy the Wilton House grounds and live music afterwards.

Money raised by the event helps fund Stars Appeal projects across Salisbury Hospital including state-of-the-art equipment, enhancements to buildings, and the charity’s ongoing projects like the Stars Appeal Wi-Fi and support for patients with cancer.

To date, Walk for Wards has raised over £1.5 million, which has helped fund projects across Salisbury Hospital including the hospital’s first dedicated breast unit, a new children’s unit, a cardiac suite and family accommodation on the neonatal unit, as well as state-of-the-art equipment such as additional MRI and CT scanners.

Over 1,500 people have already registered to take part.

Walkers are asked to sign up in advance and commit to raising at least £20/£50 sponsorship per person (route dependent) for their chosen ward or department at Salisbury Hospital.
