Plans for new industrial units in Amesbury submitted

FOUR new industrial units could be built alongside another commercial development in Amesbury.

The plan, for Sunrise Way on the Solstice Park, has been submitted to Wiltshire Council by Maddox Planning.

The application said units 1-11 already have planning permission, with new units – 12-15 – on land to the north east of the plot.

“Units 12-14 will be single storey industrial units with ancillary first floor mezzanines,” it said. Unit 15 will have a second floor mezzanine.”

It went on: “The units will be of steel frame construction with low pitch roofs covered with trapezoidal built-up metal cladding systems and rooflights to add daylight into the warehouse areas.”

Access would be via access routes created by the first phase of development, the plan said, with a total of 151 parking spaces and eight electric vehicle charging spots.

“Cycle parking spaces are provided in line with the Amesbury cycle parking standards and a total of 56 spaces are provided under external shelters,” the plan added.

The application said a number of benefits would come from the development, including making a ‘positive contribution to local employment opportunities’.

No one has commented about the amount of traffic on local roads, the surface is none existing and full of holes perhaps our local councilors should consider the problems that will increase and think,
