POLICE are appealing for help to trace the owner of a heavy-duty electric wire roll recovered during an unrelated incident at a flat in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Police said officers discovered the item while attending the address and are now trying to establish whether it may have been stolen.

The force is asking anyone who has recently had similar electrical cabling go missing, particularly from building sites, properties or businesses in the Salisbury area, to come forward.

Officers believe the equipment could belong to someone who may not yet have reported it missing.

Anyone who thinks the recovered wire could be theirs is asked to contact police with further details.
