A POLICE cordon is in place after a body was found at an address in Verwood.

At around 11.42pm on Monday night (November 27), Dorset Police were called to a property in Burn Close, raising concerns for the welfare of a man.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service and very sadly, the man – in his 70s – was located deceased,” a spokesperson said.

“His family has been informed and the coroner has been notified.”

They said an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

“A cordon is in place at the address and there will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out,” the police spokesperson added.
