THE 2023 Rockbourne Fair gets underway today – with shoppers ready to bag a bargain at Salisbury Racecourse.

Doors at the event, which boasts more than 100 stalls, will open at 10am.

The shopping extravaganza, in aid of the Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospital’s charity, runs until Friday (October 20).

Organisers promise a raft of goods on offer on the carefully-curated stalls, including the latest in fashion, cosmetics, and jewellery, as well as artisan foods, luxurious homeware, toys and other quirky gifts.

Late-night shopping runs on Thursday until 8pm, with visitors encouraged to make a day of it: meeting friends, enjoying lunch at the restaurant and making a head start on their Christmas shopping.

Bev Moulding, committee chair, said: “The final countdown has begun. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new people who make the journey to ‘Shop the Rock’.

“Let’s make it a fair to remember, celebrating community, small businesses, and raise as much as we can to help our local hospital.”

Each purchase made directly helps the Stars Appeal in reaching its fundraising target of £1 million for enhancing patient care and creating tangible, positive change for both patients and staff at Salisbury District Hospital.

Wednesday, October 18: 10am to 5.30pm
Thursday, October 19: 10am to 8pm
Friday, October 20: 9.30am to 3pm
Entry costs £5, with special £3 entry after 6pm on Thursday.
