Salisbury care home celebrates second year of dementia care excellence

A CARE home in Salisbury supporting people living with dementia is celebrating after being recognised for a second year running for the quality of care it provides residents.

Bemerton Lodge has once again achieved the Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT)Care Quality Accreditation for Well-being and Dementia Care – an award recognising homes that deliver high standards of support for people living with dementia.

For families facing the challenges of dementia, the recognition offers reassurance that loved ones are receiving care focused not just on medical needs, but on dignity, independence and quality of life.

The accreditation highlights Bemerton Lodge’s approach to person-centred care with staff working to ensure residents are supported as individuals while creating a calm, engaging and supportive environment.

Home manager Rebecca Kilgour said the achievement reflected the dedication of staff across the home.

“We are incredibly proud to have received this accreditation for the second year in a row,” she said.

“It is a wonderful recognition of the passion, care, and dedication our team brings every day. This achievement belongs to every member of staff who works tirelessly to ensure our residents receive the very best support, companionship, and quality of life.”

She added that the team was looking forward to celebrating together and recognising the hard work behind the success.

The accreditation, awarded by the OSJCT, recognises care homes that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to resident wellbeing and specialist dementia support.

Staff at Bemerton Lodge will mark the milestone with a special celebration to thank colleagues for their work helping residents and families navigate the challenges of dementia care.
