Salisbury court hears attempted murder case after attack

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Salisbury that left a woman in hospital.

Jake Guyatt, 32, of Spire View, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning in connection with an incident at an address in Firsdown on Wednesday (May 5).

The charge relates to an alleged attack in which a woman sustained serious injuries. She remains in hospital.

Guyatt is also charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class B drug.

No pleas were entered during the hearing, and Guyatt was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear next at Salisbury Crown Court on June 3.

The case follows a major police response earlier this week, with officers carrying out extensive enquiries in the Firsdown area.
