A SALISBURY man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a four-week-old baby boy.

Jamie Fulford, 26, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on yesterday (June 2) charged with murder.

The charge relates to the death of a baby boy who was admitted to Salisbury District Hospital with serious injuries on September 1, 2022.

Tragically, the child died eight days later, on September 9.

During the hearing, Fulford pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was released on bail and is due to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on January 11, 2027.

The baby’s mother, Sophie Egerton, 22, also of Salisbury, has been charged with causing or allowing the death or harm of a child.

She appeared before the court separately and was also granted bail. Egerton is next due to appear in court on September 22.
