Salisbury man in court after arrest involving sniffer dogs and police helicopter

SALISBURY man Mark Day was arrested after a police operation involving sniffer dogs and the force helicopter.

The 37-year-old, of Coberley Drive, has been charged with assault, two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to provide, possession of a class B drug and criminal damage.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (September 23) and has been remanded into custody.

DS Nugent, of Wiltshire Police, said: “This was excellent teamwork which involved multiple departments including the neighbourhood policing team, CID, dogs unit and a police helicopter.

“I’d also like to thank the members of the public who called in about this incident – their support was invaluable.”
