A SURVEY has found that Salisbury Racecourse offers one of the UK’s top 10 cheapest burgers at a racecourse.
The racecourse is also within the top 15 best value tracks overall, according to the Racing Post Racecourse Price Index.
Making a return in 2025, the Racing Post Racecourse Price Index has ranked all UK Flat racecourses in terms of their value for money, each rating being decided by considering the respective costs of tickets, pints, burgers and bottles of water, while also taking into account the track’s TripAdvisor rating, walking distance from the nearest train station and, where applicable, the number of plays the track’s top-performing artist has received on Spotify.
A burger at Salisbury costs £9, comfortably within the top 10 cheapest burger offerings at a UK racecourse, while the cheapest pint available is Pravha for £6.50.
A bottle of water will set punters back £2, the third cheapest price for the product in the country, and the typical entry price to the track is £25.
Salisbury is 4.1 miles from the nearest train station and has a TripAdvisor rating of 4.3 stars. All of these values contributed to the venue’s overall score of 73.6 out of 100 in the index.
A spokesperson for Racing Post said: “Salisbury is a unique racecourse and regular racegoers and new faces alike will be happy to learn that it’s a good value for money day out.
“It’s an excellent location for a fun, sociable day out, with a very healthy TripAdvisor rating of 4.3 stars. With their burgers at that decent a price, why wouldn’t you visit with all your friends?!”
