Salisbury’s Churchill Gardens path to get a new look

PARTS of Churchill Gardens will be inaccessible to pedestrians from September to December as work takes place to resurface the entrance by the toilets.

The project will see damaged paving slabs removed and replaced with new tarmac pathways and green spaces.

New trees will also be planted to help increase canopy cover across the city.

The work is expected to be completed on December 2.

For the duration of the works, the paths around the Southampton Road entrance will be fenced off, and there will be no pedestrian access. Visitors are encouraged to use alternative routes around the park.

Access to the toilets and water fountain at this entrance will also be temporarily unavailable during the construction period.

Park visitors are also advised that Kiwi Coffee will be temporarily relocated elsewhere within the park, and to check their Facebook page for updates.

Additionally, the Salisbury parkrun will operate a slightly modified course during this period. For the latest updates on the parkrun, please visit their Facebook page.

A Salisbury City Council  spokesperson said: “[We] appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we work to improve the park’s facilities.”
